What they need

About Us

Excitement is growing at Indevin as we gear up for the most exhilarating time of the year: Vintage!

Home to Villa Maria, our vision is to be one of the world's great wine companies, sharing the best of New Zealand wine with the world.

Our grapes come from over 6,000 hectares of planted vineyards and blended in our wineries across three of the renowned wine regions - Marlborough, Hawke's Bay, and Gisborne - and our wines are exported globally. From grape to glass, we're passionate about wine and we love what we do!

The Role

Vintage 2027 is fast approaching and we're getting ready!

For the team at the heart of this annual experience, there's much more to be made in addition to wine. You'll make great friends (it'll feel like family by the end), good money, learn new skills and make incredible memories. That's just a taste of what you can look forward to as part of our vintage crew.

As we gear up for Vintage 2027, we're on the hunt for Cellar Hands to join our seasonal teams at our Marlborough wineries. In this hands-on role, you'll support a range of cellar operations, including grape receival, wine transfers, cleaning and sanitising, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

We have a range of exciting opportunities to apply for! Whether you’re new to vintage, keen to build on your experience, or ready for a more challenging role, we have an opportunity for you.

Typically, our vintages run from late-February to mid-April.

Because of the nature of our business, our vintage dates might change slightly, but we will always keep you up-to-date with the latest information as we get it.

About you

Regardless of your level of experience, we will provide you with all the training you need to be successful in the role!

We are seeking both entry level and experienced Cellar Hands to join our team! We do need all our Vintage crew members to:

  • Be hard-working, motivated and have a can-do attitude
  • Be available to commit to the timeframes
  • Be a sound problem solver with the ability to do so under pressure
  • Be physically fit, reliable and a team player
  • Have safety at the forefront, living our ‘Safety, Our Priority' value
  • Be able to speak English very well and follow instructions in English too, this is to ensure your safety and that of our teams

What else to expect?

  • This is a fast-paced environment and involves a fair amount of manual labour and concentration
  • Competitive hourly rate ranging from $24 to $29 per hour, plus 8% holiday pay
  • You'll enjoy additional benefits such as free transport, meals during all breaks, and plenty of treats to keep you going throughout vintage!
  • You’ll need to be available to work shifts of up to 12 hours, 6 days a week, at vintage peak. Minimum guaranteed hours of work are 30 hours per week
  • You need to be prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical examination and drug and alcohol test

On Offer

  • Bring your friends and experience the magic of Vintage in New Zealand!
  • A hearty, healthy lunch every day, as well as morning and afternoon tea
  • Free travel to and from your accommodation to our site each day
  • Night shift allowances where applicable
  • Gain experience you can transfer to different Vintages across the globe!.
  • Learn from a positive, tight-knit, experienced team
  • Step into an active, fun team focused and collaborative role
  • Create a product that will bring joy to the world!
  • The occasional wine tasting!

Our Culture

We think our culture is pretty special. We have talented teams working in a variety of breath-taking locations. Our priority and investment in the wellbeing and diversity of our people is core to our purpose.

We're all about authenticity and transparency so rather than bombard you with corporate jargon- here's the real Indevin:

  • We're a good ol' Kiwi company who is proud to be a wine industry leader and we have years of hard work to thank for it
  • Our business is proudly spearheaded by the Villa Maria Brand
  • We take our work, but not ourselves, too seriously
  • We work with people from all over the world because our diversity makes us stronger
  • We're very passionate about what we do. We love wine, sharing our knowledge and making Indevin an inspiring place to work
