What they need

Excitement is growing at Indevin as we gear up for the most exhilarating time of the year: vintage!

About Us

Home to Villa Maria, our vision is to be one of the world’s great wine companies, sharing the best of New Zealand wine with the world.

Our grapes come from over 6,000 hectares of planted vineyards and blended in our wineries across three of the renowned wine regions - Marlborough, Hawke’s Bay, and Gisborne - and our wines are exported globally. From grape to glass, we’re passionate about wine and we love what we do!

The Role

Vintage 2027 is fast approaching and we’re getting ready!

As we gear up for Vintage 2027, we're on the hunt for Laboratory Technicians to join our seasonal teams at our Marlborough wineries.

For the team at the heart of this annual experience, there's much more to be made in addition to wine. You'll make great friends (it'll feel like family by the end), good money, new skills and incredible memories. That's just a taste of what you can look forward to making when you're part of our vintage crew.

Whether you've been studying a relevant qualification or you bring several Vintages experience in a Lab - we have a role for you!

You will collect samples and complete analysis in our laboratory -

  • Laboratory Technicians with less experience will operate as "runners" - they will have a stronger focus on collecting samples from around the winery and completing simple analysis within the lab
  • If you bring Laboratory experience within a winery, you will likely spend less time collecting samples from around the winery and focus more on more complicated analysis of grapes, juices, ferments and wine in the lab

These will be full time, fixed term roles to support with our seasonal Vintage requirements.

Typically, our vintages run from late-February to mid-April and we're looking for teams to support our Vintage period and post-Vintage operations. Because of the nature of our business, our vintage dates might change slightly, but we will always keep you up-to-date with the latest information as we get it.

About you

We have vacancies available for both entry level and experienced Laboratory Technicians. Whether you've been studying in a related field and are looking to gain working experience within a laboratory OR you are a seasoned Laboratory Technician who has worked several vintages in wineries- we want to hear from you!

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • A practical approach
  • Thrive under pressure and working to tight deadlines
  • We work under high pressure and tight deadlines during vintage, so you'll need to thrive in that environment, work well in a team and be physically fit
  • Available to work shifts of up to 12 hours, 6 days per week, at vintage peak
  • Be prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical examination and drug and alcohol test

On Offer

  • Bring your friends and experience the magic of Vintage in New Zealand!
  • A hearty, healthy lunch every day, as well as morning and afternoon tea
  • Free travel to and from your accommodation to our site each day
  • Gain experience you can transfer to different Vintages across the globe!
  • Learn from a positive, tight-knit, experienced team
  • Step into an active, fun team focused and collaborative role
  • Create a product that will bring joy to the world!
  • The occasional wine tasting!

Our Culture

We think our culture is pretty special. We have talented teams working in a variety of breath-taking locations. Our priority and investment in the wellbeing and diversity of our people is core to our purpose.

We're all about authenticity and transparency so rather than bombard you with corporate jargon- here's the real Indevin:

  • We're a good ol' Kiwi company who is proud to be a wine industry leader and we have years of hard work to thank for it
  • Our business is proudly spearheaded by the Villa Maria Brand
  • We take our work, but not ourselves, too seriously
  • We work with people from all over the world because our diversity makes us stronger
  • We're very passionate about what we do. We love wine, sharing our knowledge and making Indevin an inspiring place to work
