Vintage Winemaker - Night Shift

Andrew Peace Wines is one of Australia’s largest family-owned wineries, with large-scale vineyard and winery operations based in Piangil, North West Victoria.

We are seeking an experienced Vintage Winemaker to manage night-shift winemaking and production operations for the upcoming vintage.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced commercial winemaker who can lead by example, solve problems on the floor and confidently manage people and production in a fast-paced vintage environment.

About the Role

Working closely with the Head Winemaker, Senior Winemaker and broader winemaking team, you will:

• Manage night-shift winemaking and production operations
• Oversee grape receival, crushing, processing and fermentations
• Coordinate additions, transfers, blending and tank movements
• Manage workflow, tank capacity and production priorities
• Lead and work alongside cellar and vintage staff
• Troubleshoot winemaking, production and equipment issues
• Maintain quality, safety, records and effective shift handovers

About You

You will ideally have:

• A qualification in Oenology, Winemaking or equivalent
• Strong large-scale commercial winery experience
• Previous experience leading a vintage, shift or major vintage operations
• Strong technical and practical winemaking knowledge
• Proven leadership and people-management skills
• A hands-on, lead-by-example approach
• Strong problem-solving skills and confidence making decisions under pressure

Experience with Vintrace, a forklift licence and relevant winery safety tickets will be highly regarded.

The Contract

• Fixed-term contract, approximately February to April
• Primarily night shift, including weekends and public holidays as required
• Accommodation provided
• Applicants must have their own reliable vehicle
