Violin (Strings) Instructor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Violin (Strings) Instructor to join our music education team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching violin and other string instruments, with a passion for working with students of various ages. This role involves providing high-quality instruction, fostering musical growth, and building a long-term teaching relationship with students. Candidates should be committed to developing their schedule gradually, starting with one student and expanding over time. This position offers an opportunity to inspire and cultivate a love for music in our community.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging and effective violin instruction tailored to each student's skill level and learning style
• Teach instrumental performance techniques, focusing primarily on the violin but also capable of instructing other instruments as needed
• Work with students of different ages, especially children, to develop their musical skills and understanding
• Prepare lesson plans that align with students’ goals and progress assessments
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages musical exploration and growth
• Build and expand your teaching schedule gradually by starting with one student and adding more over time
• Maintain professionalism and dedication to long-term teaching commitments

Skills

• Minimum of five years of teaching experience in music education, specifically with children
• Bachelor's degree in an instrument or related field; Master’s degree is a plus
• Proven ability to teach violin and other string instruments; experience teaching additional instruments is highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of instrumental performance techniques and music theory
• Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to motivate students of all ages
• Experience working with children in a teaching setting
• Willingness to start small with one student and grow the schedule over time
