Virtual Assistant – Electrical Engineering Support (AU Client)

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Virtual Assistant with experience in interpreting electrical plans and drawings based on Victoria (Australian) or US standards. This role will support our team in reviewing layouts, identifying electrical symbols, and assisting with project documentation and basic estimations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical plans and technical drawings
• Identify and understand common electrical symbols (e.g. power points, lighting, switches, hot water systems)
• Assist with basic take-offs, estimations, and plan mark-ups
• Organise and maintain project documentation and files
• Ensure accuracy when working with technical layouts
• Communicate clearly with the team regarding updates and plan interpretations

Minimum Requirements

• Proven ability to read and interpret electrical plans and drawings
• Familiarity with common electrical symbols used in Australian (Victoria) or US standards
• Background in electrical engineering, drafting, or a related field (study or work experience)
• Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy
• Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely
• Good written and verbal English communication skills

Software & Tool Experience (Required or Highly Preferred)
Experience with any of the following platforms is highly advantageous:

• Bluebeam
• AutoCAD
• Simpro
• Fergus
• ServiceM8
• Tradify
• Procore
• Or similar electrical, drafting, or construction management systems

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience in basic take-offs, estimations, or plan mark-ups
• Strong organisational and process-driven approach
• Ability to follow structured workflows and SOPs
• Previous experience working remotely or as a Virtual Assistant

Assessment Process
As part of the interview process, candidates will complete a practical assessment, including:

• Reviewing a legend of common electrical symbols used in plans
• Identifying symbols from a modified legend with labels removed

This assessment is designed to evaluate your ability to interpret and apply electrical plan knowledge in real-world scenarios.
