As our advisory division continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Virtual CFO / Senior Management Accountant to join the team and become a trusted adviser to a portfolio of SME clients.

The Opportunity

This is a client-facing advisory role where you'll work directly with business owners and management teams to help them understand their numbers, make better decisions and achieve their business goals.

You'll act as the primary finance contact for a portfolio of clients, delivering a combination of management reporting, commercial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and strategic advice.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with clients, influencing decisions and delivering practical commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary finance contact for a portfolio of SME clients
• Prepare monthly management accounts and board-style reporting packs
• Lead client finance meetings and present financial results and recommendations
• Develop budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections
• Analyse business performance and key financial drivers
• Provide commercial insights and strategic recommendations
• Support clients with profitability improvement and business growth initiatives
• Build and maintain KPI dashboards and management reporting frameworks
• Manage month-end reporting processes
• Assist clients with Xero, reporting tools and cloud-based systems
• Identify process improvement and automation opportunities
• Participate in board and management meetings where required
• Work closely with directors on Virtual CFO engagements
• Mentor junior team members and assist with workflow management

About You

You'll enjoy working closely with business owners and translating financial information into practical commercial advice.

Ideally you'll have:

• Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce or Business
• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion)
• Demonstrated experience operating as a Finance Manager, Commercial Accountant, Business Adviser or Virtual CFO
• Strong experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
• Experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving ability
• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset

Highly Regarded

• Current or recent experience delivering Virtual CFO or outsourced finance services
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients across multiple industries
• Experience presenting financial results directly to business owners, boards or management teams
• Experience working in a business advisory or consulting environment
