VIRTUAL ROOFING ESTIMATOR

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

CLS Roofing is seeking a detail-oriented estimator with at

least two years of professional roofing estimating experience.

The ideal candidate is comfortable preparing accurate

commercial and residential roof takeoffs, material quantities,

labor estimates and clear project scopes.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform commercial and residential takeoffs from blueprints,

architectural drawings and roof reports.

• Calculate material quantities, roof areas, insulation, flashing,

accessories, waste and labor.

• Prepare organized cost breakdowns, scopes of work and bid

packages.

• Review plans and specifications; flag missing details and

estimating discrepancies.

• Support proposal development, subcontractor pricing and bid

deadlines.

• Communicate remotely with the estimating team, sales

representatives and project managers.

• Maintain accurate takeoff records and help train a junior

estimating assistant as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of relevant roofing estimating experience

(required).

• Proven ability to estimate both commercial and residential

roofing projects.

• Strong plan-reading skills, roofing math and material takeoff

accuracy.

• Comfortable working independently with deadlines and

remote collaboration.

• Reliable computer, internet connection and professional

communication.

ROOFING SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE

Commercial

• TPO and PVC single-ply roofing systems.

• Modified bitumen, built-up roofing (BUR) and recover

assemblies.

• Insulation, cover boards, drains, penetrations, flashing and

sheet metal.

Residential

• Asphalt shingles, concrete/clay tile and metal roofing.

• Pitched-roof measurements, waste factors and roofing

accessory quantities.

SOFTWARE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and digital takeoff tools.

• Experience with Roofr, The EDGE, AccuLynx, Bluebeam,

PlanSwift or comparable software preferred.

• Knowledge of Florida roofing assemblies and construction

requirements is a plus.

COMPENSATION & GROWTH

• $18–$27 per hour, based on verified experience and skill.

• Remote, part-time position with potential for full-time hours.

• Performance reviews and long-term advancement potential.
