Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive science curricula aligned with educational standards, including topics such as biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
• Deliver live virtual lessons utilizing advanced learning technology to accommodate different learning styles and ensure student engagement.
• Incorporate laboratory simulations, dissection videos, and interactive experiments to enhance understanding of complex scientific concepts like organic chemistry, genetics, microbiology, and molecular biology.
• Assess student progress through quizzes, standardized tests, and project-based assignments; provide timely feedback to support learning growth.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying educational abilities, including those in special education settings.
• Collaborate with fellow educators on curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and instructional design to maintain high-quality educational delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance metrics, and compliance with educational regulations; participate in ongoing professional development related to educational technology integration and classroom management.

Qualifications

• NEW JERSEY TEACHING CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), or related field; teaching certification REQUIRED
• Proven experience teaching science at middle or high school levels; prior virtual teaching experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of scientific disciplines including cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, differential equations, organic chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, and related areas.
• Proficiency in learning technology tools such as virtual labs, digital whiteboards, video conferencing platforms, and curriculum management software.
• Demonstrated ability to design engaging lessons tailored to various learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate students and foster a positive online classroom environment.
• Experience working with teenagers in diverse settings; familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavioral management strategies.
• Knowledge of educational compliance standards and regulation requirements for online instruction; experience implementing IT-integrated lessons is a plus.
• Prior laboratory experience or research laboratory background enhances instructional credibility; experience with dissection or hands-on experiments is advantageous.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 20.0 per week
