Vision Claims Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Vision Claims Specialist to join our organization. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely vision insurance claim processing, reimbursement, and resolution.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with vision insurance plans and a strong understanding of insurance filing processes, claim follow-up, denial management, and benefit verification.

Position Responsibilities

• Submit and process vision insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
• Verify patient eligibility and vision insurance benefits.
• Review, research, and resolve denied or rejected claims.
• Follow up with insurance carriers regarding claim status and reimbursement.
• Process claim corrections and appeals when necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation within practice management systems.
• Collaborate with optical, billing, and front office teams to resolve claim-related issues.
• Monitor aging claims and work proactively to ensure timely payment.
• Stay current on vision insurance requirements and updates.
• Assist with reporting, account reconciliation, and other insurance-related projects as needed.

QualificationsRequired

• Previous experience in insurance billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Proficiency with computer systems and insurance web portals.

Preferred

Experience with one or more of the following vision insurance carriers:

• VSP
• EyeMed
• Spectera
• Davis Vision
• Superior Vision

Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Optometry practices
• Ophthalmology practices
• Optical retail environments
• Vision benefit administration
