Role Overview

Responsible for the development and integration of vision systems for Die Bonder machines, with a strong focus on hands-on development of vision system components.

The role will support operations, suppliers, and customers across Asia, while working closely with R&D teams based in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and build vision system components independently, from concept through implementation.

• Integrate vision systems into Die Bonder equipment.

• Support operations, suppliers, and customers across Asia.

• Troubleshoot vision-related issues and provide technical solutions.

• Drive continuous improvements and develop customized vision solutions, including:

  • Feasibility studies
  • Technical specifications
  • Qualification
  • Documentation

• Develop and optimize optics, illumination, and sensor systems.

• Support and co-develop:

  • Camera systems
  • Vision algorithms
  • Machine accuracy and calibration
  • Vision-related process technologies

• Act as the communication interface between Asian operations and European R&D teams.

• Set up and maintain the vision laboratory.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in a relevant field such as Physics, Optical Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar technical/engineering role.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment or other precision machinery is highly preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience in developing/building vision system components is essential.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Optics
  • Illumination
  • Vision systems

• Experience with scientific tools and simulation software related to vision.

• Basic understanding of electronics.

• Knowledge of cameras, vision algorithms, calibration, and machine accuracy is an advantage.

• Good intercultural awareness and ability to work in a global organization.

• Proactive, assertive, and able to work independently.

• Strong team player.

• Willingness to travel approximately 20%, including:

  • Customer sites across Asia
  • Production sites in Asia
  • Occasional travel to Europe
