Visitor Experience Ambassador

Welcome to Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari, the world's largest predator-fenced sanctuary. We are located about 30mins from Cambridge, Putaruru, Te Awamutu and about an hour from Hamilton.

Following an internal promotion, we are on the hunt for our next world-class Visitor Ambassador/Guide. This varied role involves connecting with visitors who come to experience the sanctuary, whether they are international or from New Zealand, self-guiding or joining a guided experience, or visiting with an education or community group.

The role involves transacting ticket sales, merchandise and food. It includes preparing the Visitor Centre and Airbnb every day, which may involve cleaning, restocking the retail space, and food preparation. You will be greeting visitors, providing information, and ensuring everyone feels welcomed and engaged in our incredible story. Once you have gained confidence, you will also be able to guide and showcase the best of Aotearoa's natural environment. As a guide, you will need to be physically fit and enjoy spending time outdoors in the native bush, regardless of the weather conditions. The teams roster runs Monday to Sunday and the ability to work at least one day on the weekend is a must.

We are on a growth journey and are looking for someone who wants to be part of Aotearoa's next 'must-do' tourism destination. Your ability to leave a lasting positive impression will be highly prized. If you are fun, positive, and engaging, if you have a love for conservation, enjoy storytelling, and want to join a great team, then send in your application. An appreciation or knowledge of Te Ao Māori is highly regarded.

Applications close 26th of September at 5pm.
