VMC Operator

• Set up and operate VMC machines for job/batch production as per drawings and process sheets

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and work instructions

• Select, load, and align appropriate cutting tools and fixtures

• Set work offsets, tool offsets, and verify program parameters before running production

• Load/edit existing CNC programs (G-code/M-code) for minor corrections when required

• Monitor the machining process, coolant flow, and tool wear during operation

• Perform first-piece and in-process inspection using Vernier callipers, micrometres, height gauges, bore gauges, dial/plug gauges, etc.

• Identify and report deviations, tool breakage, or quality issues promptly

• Carry out routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping of the machine and work area

• Maintain accurate production logs, quality records, and shift handover reports

• Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and 5S standards on the shop floor

• Coordinate with programmers, quality inspectors, and supervisors on process improvements or non-conformances

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong working knowledge of VMC operations (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Haas controllers)

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T

• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and coolant selection

• Basic CNC program editing and offset-setting skills

• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments

• Strong attention to detail and quality-first mind-set

• Ability to work in rotational shifts and stand for extended periods

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
