VMC Supervisor

NPP Engineering is a growing manufacturing company specializing in high-precision automobile machinery parts. We are looking for a reliable, skilled, and sharp VMC Supervisor / Lead Operator to handle daily Vertical Machining Center (VMC) operations and lead our shop-floor machining team.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily VMC production, setting up machines, guiding operators, ensuring product quality, and maintaining target production output.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision & Production Target: Oversee shift production on VMC machines, assign jobs to operators, and ensure daily production targets are met on time.
• Machine Setup & Offsets: Perform tool loading, job setup, work coordinate setting, and offset adjustments on VMC machines (Fanuc / Siemens controls).
• Quality & First-Piece Inspection: Check first-piece samples using precision measuring instruments (Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges) to prevent dimensional errors in production.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve basic tooling, machining, or quality issues during production runs and guide operators on proper machining techniques.
• Tooling & Material Management: Monitor cutting tool/insert wear, manage tool replacement, and ensure raw materials are readily available at the machine.
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Ensure daily basic machine maintenance (coolant levels, lubrication, chip removal) and maintain 5S discipline on the shop floor.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education: ITI (Machinist/Turner) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of practical experience operating and setting VMC machines (freshers with supervisor ambition or senior operators ready to step up are encouraged).
• Technical Skills:
• Good understanding of VMC machine controls (Virat 1020).
• Hands-on expertise with precision measuring tools and reading 2D mechanical engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T symbols, feeds, speeds, and cutting tools/inserts.
• Leadership & Traits: Responsible, strong team handling skills, quality-focused, and punctual.
