VMware Cloud Foundation 9 Architect

VCF 9 Architect for an enterprise VMware platform | NRW, Germany | Remote-first, 6+ months

F1Service is looking for a VCF 9 Architect for our client, a large enterprise near Bielefeld and Gütersloh that is evolving its private cloud on VMware Cloud Foundation 9. We need a dedicated VCF specialist to own the architecture. If your career has been built around VCF rather than general infrastructure, this one is for you.

Your role in the project

• Own the target architecture of the VCF platform and shape how it grows

• Guide the team through demanding virtualisation and private cloud decisions, from concept to rollout

• Set the standards for scaling, resilience, security and lifecycle

• Lead the technical side of migrations and platform transformation inside VMware

• Be the go-to expert for the operations, platform and infrastructure teams

Your background

• A clear VCF specialisation with deep knowledge of the VMware stack

• Several years as a VMware architect for large enterprises or major clients

• Strong command of vSphere, ESXi and vCenter

• Track record in designing, building or modernising private cloud / SDDC landscapes

• Projects at corporate or group level (SME-only experience will not be enough here)

• Bonus: VCF or other Broadcom/VMware certifications at architect level

Project setup

• Induction: December 2026, go-live: January 2027

• Duration: 6 months with extension potential

• Load: from 2 days a week, ideally 3 to 5

• Mostly remote, with an on-site kick-off in the region being welcome

• Languages: German C1+ and English B2+

• Open to candidates across Europe within ±2 hours of German time
