Role Purpose

Manage and Support customer as Vmware Support L1 Engineer and provide support and perform troubleshooting as per issue. Resolve all the L1 Tickets assigned as per defined SLA & elevate the ticket to L2 If required. should involve in the activity and do the configuration and changes in environment with proper process with help of L1. Other miscellaneous activities (stop, start, managing alerts/logs, license management, hardening, third party s/w installation & configuration).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

VMWare Infrastructure Administration and management

Skills/Knowledge requirement

Vmware Certifed

Installations for security patches, functional patches and version upgrades

Performance tuning of ESX server

Implement Hardening on ESXi Server

Document support processes

Interact with Service desk supervision team for Verification of solutions

Maintain Compliance with Corporate Security Policies

Security Policies: Work together with the security team, identify the server venerability issues and resolving them.

Responsible for restoration of data.

Snapshot, HA, DRS & Cloning background process

OS upgradation through Update manager

Sound Knowledge on VMware ESX (from version 5.1 to the latest release)

Proficient on VMware technologies like VMware High-Availability, VMware Vmotion, VMware DRS, VMware vCenter and vCenter Update Manager, VMware vCenter and Web console

Provide 2nd level systems support

Knowledge on Storage Management Techniques

Experience with hardware platform

Datacentre understanding

Understanding on network flow in VMware

Understanding of backup integration with VMware

Basic knowledge of Storage, network and security

Basic Knowledge of Windows OS & other OS

MCP /MCSE / VCP or equivalent certification is desired

Sound Knowledge on VMware ESX (from version 5.1 to the latest release)
