Location: Austin, Texas (Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a VMWare Virtualization Engineer for a project-related engagement. This role is focused on virtualization environment recovery and security hardening. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in rebuilding and securing hypervisor hosts and virtual infrastructure following security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze compromised Hypervisor hosts to understand the extent of the compromise.
• Rebuild compromised Hypervisor hosts with a clean operating system installation and applied security baselines.
• Rebuild VMware vCenter Server with applied security baselines.
• Ensure proper communication between rebuilt vSphere hosts and vCenter for centralized management.
• Perform security hardening for both VMware and Hyper-V environments.
• Support the restoration of virtual machines from backups or the creation of new Virtual Machines (VMs) based on customer requirements.
• If applicable, collaborate with VxRail support for system restore procedures.
• Work nights and/or weekends as required by project demands.

Required Qualifications Experience: Must have 5+ years in Virtualization Environment Recovery. Must have 5+ years in VMware and/or Hyper-V.
