Vocal and Piano Instructor

Our school is looking for a passionate, reliable, and experienced Piano & Vocal Instructors to join our teaching team.

We are looking for an instructor who enjoys working with students of all ages and skill levels and can provide engaging, structured, and encouraging lessons in both or either piano and voice.

We offer private lessons, performance opportunities, examinations, competitions, and other musical experiences throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Teach private piano and/or vocal lessons to children, teens, and adults
• Prepare engaging lessons based on each student's age, ability, goals, and learning style
• Develop students' technical, theoretical, and performance skills
• Prepare students for RCM examinations and other recognized music examinations when applicable
• Prepare students for recitals, concerts, competitions, and other Arcadia events
• Maintain a professional and positive relationship with students and parents
• Track student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Follow our school's curriculum, teaching resources, and studio policies
• Communicate professionally with the front desk and management regarding student progress, scheduling, and lesson-related concerns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional teaching environment
• Encourage students to participate in school performances, events, and musical activities

Qualifications

• Strong piano skills with formal musical training
• Strong vocal training and performance experience
• Previous experience teaching piano and/or voice is preferred
• Ability to teach beginner through advanced students
• RCM experience or familiarity with RCM curriculum is an asset
• Music degree, diploma, or equivalent musical training is an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Patient and encouraging teaching style
• Comfortable working with children and adults
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
• Vulnerable Sector Check required

Schedule

Teaching hours are primarily Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM, with Saturday availability also available.

Compensation

$20–$40 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and teaching ability.

This is a self-employed/independent contractor position.
