Job Overview

ABS International is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vocal Mix Engineer to join our in-house Audio Production Team in Karachi.

The successful candidate will be responsible for recording, editing, tuning, processing, and mixing vocals to a professional, production-ready standard. This is a hands-on role involving live projects and requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a well-trained ear.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and edit vocal sessions using proper gain staging, level management, and recording techniques.
• Perform vocal tuning and timing correction while maintaining a natural and musical performance.
• Process vocals using professional techniques, including:
• EQ
• Compression
• Limiting
• Saturation
• De-essing
• Automation
• Corrective processing
• Apply reverb, delay, modulation, and other creative effects appropriately.
• Identify and remove unwanted noise, distortion, clicks, pops, and other audio imperfections.
• Mix vocals with instrumental and music tracks to achieve clarity, balance, depth, and presence.
• Ensure vocals sit naturally within the overall production while preserving the character of the performance.
• Collaborate with artists, content teams, and other production staff to achieve the required sound.
• Maintain organized DAW sessions, audio files, project folders, plugins, and production records.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining consistent quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience as a Vocal Mix Engineer, Audio Engineer, Sound Engineer, Mixing Engineer , or in a similar role.
• Strong practical knowledge of vocal recording, editing, processing, and mixing workflows.
• Advanced understanding of EQ, compression, limiting, saturation, de-essing, automation, reverb, delay, and other vocal-processing techniques.
• Proficiency in at least one professional DAW, such as:
• FL Studio
• Pro Tools
• Logic Pro
• Ableton Live
• Cubase
• Or an equivalent professional DAW
• Good understanding of microphone selection, placement, and vocal recording techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and a well-trained musical ear.
• Ability to identify and correct subtle audio imperfections.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.
• Good understanding of professional audio workflows, session organization, and file management.

Portfolio / Audio Samples Required

A portfolio or relevant audio work samples are mandatory.

Applicants must submit examples demonstrating their experience in vocal recording, vocal processing, vocal mixing, or related audio production work.

Compensation

Competitive salary based on experience, technical knowledge, and demonstrated skill level.
