VoIP Support Technician

Location: Bloomington, MN (Onsite)

Compensation: $60,000-$70,000 base salary, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates

Position Overview

We are seeking a VoIP Support Technician to support business communications environments across a growing client base. This position focuses on the deployment, onboarding, support, and ongoing maintenance of hosted voice solutions, with significant customer interaction throughout the implementation process.

The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to VoIP technologies and voice platforms, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a customer-focused approach. You'll work closely with clients to ensure successful onboarding experiences while supporting both modern cloud-based phone systems and select legacy voice environments.

What You'll Be Doing

• Configure, deploy, and support hosted VoIP solutions for business customers
• Assist with client onboarding activities, including phone provisioning, system setup, and user enablement
• Troubleshoot voice service issues involving SIP, call routing, endpoints, and related technologies
• Support cloud-based voice platforms such as Zoom Phone, 8x8, Nextiva, and similar solutions
• Maintain and support existing voice infrastructure, including legacy PBX environments
• Perform moves, adds, changes, and user administration within customer voice systems
• Monitor service performance and investigate voice quality concerns
• Install and configure IP phones, gateways, SBCs, ATAs, and related communications hardware
• Document configurations, changes, troubleshooting efforts, and customer interactions
• Collaborate with technical teams to resolve networking and connectivity issues impacting voice services
• Provide end-user training and technical guidance during implementations and support engagements
• Conduct occasional local customer visits for installations, deployments, and hardware-related support

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting, implementing, or administering VoIP or business telephony solutions
• Understanding of common voice technologies, protocols, and terminology
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues in customer-facing environments
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate documentation
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hosted or cloud-based voice platforms
• Familiarity with SIP, SBCs, hosted PBX solutions, and IP telephony technologies
• Understanding of voice VLAN concepts and network configurations supporting communications systems
• Experience within a managed services or multi-client support environment
• Relevant technical certifications, training, or formal education

Work Environment

• Primarily onsite in Bloomington, MN
• Occasional local travel to customer locations within the Twin Cities metro area
• Standard Monday-Friday business hours
• Ability to lift and move communication equipment when needed
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
