Jam Coding is a multi-award-winning organisation inspiring young minds through digital skills. We deliver fun, hands-on coding and computing sessions in primary schools, helping children aged 5–11 develop confidence with technology and problem-solving.

We’re excited to offer a volunteer opportunity for T-Level students in South West London who are interested in teaching, education, or computing and want real, meaningful experience working in schools.

The Opportunity

As a Volunteer Assistant Code Coach, you’ll support after-school coding clubs and workshops in primary schools. You’ll work alongside experienced code coaches, observing, assisting, and gradually building your confidence in delivering sessions.

This role is designed to support your T-Level placement and future career, whether you’re aiming for teaching, education, computing, or digital roles.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting fun, interactive coding sessions for children aged 5–11
• Assisting experienced coaches during lessons and activities
• Helping set up and pack away equipment (laptops, robotics kits, etc.)
• Encouraging children’s creativity, teamwork, and confidence
• Observing classroom management and teaching techniques
• Receiving feedback and mentoring to support your development

You don’t need to be a coding expert — enthusiasm, reliability, and willingness to learn are what matter most.

Requirements

• Must be based in South West London
• Interest in teaching, computing, or working with children
• Available during term time (typically after school) and some school holidays
• Willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check (support provided)
• Friendly, professional, and keen to learn
