What they need

Hagleys is a training and career development provider committed to helping people develop new skills, gain qualifications and access opportunities for personal and professional growth.

We are looking for a creative, organised and motivated Volunteer Online Course Developer to help us expand our range of short online courses.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating educational content, designing engaging learning materials and working with digital platforms. You will play an important role in helping us develop accessible and engaging online learning experiences for our learners.

The Role

As a Volunteer Online Course Developer, you will help create and build short online courses for the Hagleys website. You will be responsible for putting together course materials, designing professional-looking resources using Canva and uploading the finished courses to our online learning platform.

You will work with our team to turn ideas and existing information into clear, engaging and easy-to-follow online learning content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help develop and create short online courses across a range of subjects.
  • Organise course content into structured lessons and learning modules.
  • Design professional and engaging course materials using Canva, including presentations, worksheets, PDFs and other learning resources.
  • Format and prepare educational content for online delivery.
  • Upload courses, lessons, downloadable resources and supporting materials to the Hagleys website.
  • Navigate the website's back-end administration area to manage and organise course content.
  • Help ensure courses are presented clearly and consistently across the platform.
  • Review and update course materials where required.
  • Work collaboratively with the Hagleys team to develop new course ideas and improve the learner experience.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience using Canva to create professional digital content and learning materials.
  • Confidence using websites and navigating back-end administration systems.
  • Good IT and digital skills, with the ability to learn new platforms.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage tasks and meet agreed deadlines.
  • A creative approach to presenting information in an engaging and accessible way.

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Experience with WordPress or a similar website platform.
  • Experience using an online learning management system (LMS)
  • Experience creating online courses, educational resources or training materials.
  • Experience using PowerPoint or creating downloadable PDF resources.

Previous experience in every area is not essential. We welcome applications from people who have relevant digital skills, a creative mindset and a willingness to learn.

What We Offer

  • An opportunity to gain practical experience in online course development and digital content creation.
  • The chance to build your portfolio with real projects.
  • Experience working with website administration and online learning platforms.
  • The opportunity to contribute to educational projects that support learners and career development.
  • A supportive environment where you can develop your skills and make a meaningful contribution.
  • A valuable addition to your CV and professional experience.

How to Apply

If you are creative, digitally confident and interested in helping us develop engaging online learning opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your application through Indeed, outlining your relevant skills and experience, particularly your experience with Canva, website administration or creating digital learning materials.
