Love having a purpose and making things happen? We’re looking for someone to run our Volunteer Programme to get more good food to the communities that need it most.
We're looking for an organised and proactive Volunteer Programme Coordinator to join our team in Penrose, Auckland.
At NZ Food Network, we're on a mission to rescue quality surplus food and get it to communities across Aotearoa. This is a newly created role with an exciting opportunity to grow a volunteer programme that has a direct impact on how much donated food we're able to process and distribute through our distribution centres every day.
If you're someone who loves bringing people together, thrives on organisation, enjoys finding ways to continually improve, and wants to see the real-world impact of your work every day, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
This role is all about organisation, people and impact. You'll create meaningful volunteer experiences that keep people coming back, while developing a volunteer programme that supports operational efficiency. You'll also support our Relationships Team with reporting, stakeholder administration and CRM management.
What you'll be doing
Coordinating volunteer bookings from enquiry through to delivery
Managing and improving our volunteer management systems and processes
Working closely with warehouse teams to ensure volunteer activities are well planned and impactful
Developing initiatives that improve volunteer engagement, recognition and retention
Managing relationships with volunteer referral organisations
Providing reports and reviews to Volunteer groups and internally
Supporting the Relationships Team with reporting, CRM administration and donor stewardship activities
About you
You're a proactive, can-do person who loves keeping things organised and running smoothly. You enjoy building relationships, solving problems and finding better ways of doing things.
You'll ideally bring:
Outstanding organisation, administration skills and attention to detail
Experience in areas including administration, volunteer coordination, events, customer service or stakeholder engagement
Strong organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)
Confidence managing multiple priorities
A proactive, solutions-focused approach
A genuine passion for making a difference in the community
What we offer at NZFN
A unique opportunity to create and shape an important programme from the ground up
Meaningful work with real community impact every single day
A supportive, purpose-driven team
A role where your ideas, initiative and improvements will genuinely matter
If you're looking for a role where your energy, initiative and organisational prowess can help us get more food to more people, we'd love to hear from you.
Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining why you believe you're a great fit for this role and how your skills and experience align with what we're looking for.
