Company Description:

Our publicly traded manufacturing client is searching for a VP Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will lead a large corporate accounting team and play a critical role in the company's global financial reporting and controllership function. The ideal candidate must have public company controllership experience in the manufacturing industry, a public accounting upbringing, and a CPA license.

Responsibilities:

• Direct all aspects of global accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of consolidated financial data
• Lead and develop a multi-tiered accounting organization spanning corporate accounting, shared services, and plant-level controllership
• Oversee corporate accounting functions including balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, pension liabilities, and journal entries
• Coordinate all external financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements
• Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls across the organization in accordance with SOX
• Support technical accounting research and serve as a key decision-maker on complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, leases, and consolidations
• Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting materials for quarterly and annual external filings
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, automation, and system efficiency
• Lead teams across multiple geographies, ensuring consistent application of accounting principles and procedures
• Evaluate accounting implications of significant transactions, including M&A and restructuring activities
• Partner with cross-functional leaders including Investor Relations, FP&A, and business unit finance teams
• Mentor and develop accounting talent, building bench strength across the organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
• CPA license is required.
• Public accounting experience with a Big 4 or multinational firm is required.
• Prior senior-level controllership experience within a U.S. publicly traded company is required.
• Manufacturing industry experience is required.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance is required.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to present to audit committees and senior leadership
