VP - Credit

Our client is an inclusive financial technology company that is a pioneer in corporate-led financing solutions for small and mid-size businesses (SMBs) in India. Working at the intersection of software and financial services, it is solving a lot of problems in the entire supply chain while also bringing the underserved and capital-starved MSMEs into the formal financing space through its flagship FRCL (Fast Rotation Credit Line).

Client envisions itself as the operating system at the convergence of Distributors and Retailers, providing an end-to-end platform that powers finance and technology solutions. Today, we are the largest last-mile retailer financing company in India.

The company is backed by well-known investors, including Tiger Global, Peak XV (previously Sequoia Capital India), Google, Creation Investments, GrowX Ventures, Beams Fintech, and others.

They are seeking a seasoned Vice President to lead and institutionalize our end-to-end credit function, ensuring data led growth within a strong risk and regulatory framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Credit Risk Assessment: Lead the evaluation of corporate credit proposals, ensuring adherence to and working towards evolving risk policies.
• Define and own credit policies, underwriting frameworks, and risk appetite across lending products
• Provide oversight and final approval on complex and structured credit proposals
• Monitor and manage the corporate credit portfolio, conducting regular reviews and tests to identify risks.
• Monitor and manage portfolio quality (delinquencies, NPAs, vintage analysis, concentration risk)
• Lead credit committees, risk reviews, and early warning mechanisms
• Structure cash-flow based and collateral-backed lending solutions
• Act as the senior credit interface for banks, co-lenders, and institutional partners
• Ensure compliance with RBI regulations, KYC/AML standards, audits, and governance requirements
• Build and lead high-performing underwriting and portfolio risk teams
• Develop and update credit risk policies, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal standards.
• Leverage AI, machine learning, and analytics to improve lending decisions, customer outcomes, and portfolio performance.
• Develop frameworks for CAM-based lending, pre-approved offers, limit enhancement, and cross-sell opportunities.
• Drive data-driven decision-making across the lending lifecycle.

Candidate Profile

• 10 -12+ years of experience in SME / Supply Chain Finance industry
• Strong exposure to Working Capital, Term Loans, SCF, Bill Discounting, and Structured Debt
• Strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a builder's mindset.
• Prior experience in lending, financial services, fintech, or other data-intensive industries preferred.
• MBA from a Tier-1 institute - mandatory
