VP, Data Governance Operationalisation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 1. 1. Manage assigned country or branch Data Governance workstreams from planning through delivery.
      2. Develop project plans, milestones and deliverables, and maintain action, risk, issue and dependency tracking.
      3. Run workshops with report owners, data owners, stewards and technology teams to gather, challenge and validate information.
      4. Identify Key Data Uses and Key Data Elements, documenting selection rationale, evidence and approvals.
      5. Capture business and technical metadata, including definitions, ownership, source systems, tables, fields, formats and transformations.
      6. Analyse and stitch together end-to-end data lineage using Excel, SQL, mapping documents and inputs from business and technology SMEs.
      7. Define data-quality requirements, rules, thresholds and exception-handling processes with business stakeholders.
      8. Write and test SQL queries for data profiling, reconciliation, validation and implementation of data-quality checks.
      9. Prepare complete, quality-checked metadata, lineage and DQ artefacts for onboarding into Collibra.
      10. Track delivery, resolve information gaps and escalate material risks or delays.
      11. Produce clear status updates and management-ready materials.
      12. Support data governance council and steering committee
      13. Support the drive to create data awareness training for APAC stakeholders.

OTHERS

1. To perform other duties as assigned by the Management and HOD.
2. To relief or cover duties of staff members in the department in his/her absence.
3. Ensure timely escalation to Supervisor/Management in case of any issues.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Academic Qualification(Degree / Diploma etc.) / Professional Qualification / Certification

1. Bachelor's/ University degree in Data Management, Computer Science, or related field
2. Certifications such as Collibra, CDMP or CIMP are highly desirable.

Working Experience (Years / Type)

1. 5 to 10 years’ experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Regulatory Reporting, Data Analysis or Business Analysis, preferably within banking.
2. Hands-on experience in business and technical metadata, data lineage and data-quality requirements.
3. Strong stakeholder-management and workshop-facilitation skills.
4. Strong Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliation and lineage documentation.
5. Good powerpoint presentation skills
6. Practical SQL skills for data profiling, validation and development of DQ checks.
7. Ability to interpret reporting logic, transformation rules and source-to-target mappings.
8. Experience developing project plans and managing milestones, actions, risks, issues and dependencies.
9. Ability to manage country workstreams independently and deliver through stakeholders across different functions and locations.
10. Experience with Collibra or similar Data Governance tools is advantageous.
11. Knowledge of BCBS 239 and regulatory reporting is advantageous.
