VP Engineering

We're partnered with a fast-growing global software company that protects some of the world's most security-conscious organisations, including government, critical infrastructure, defence, utilities, and enterprise customers.

As they continue to invest heavily in AI-first product development, they are seeking a VP of Engineering to lead a strategically important security platform used to protect business-critical communications and digital collaboration environments.

This is not a traditional management role.

We're looking for a technical leader who still enjoys getting hands-on with architecture, code reviews, engineering quality, and solving complex technical challenges while leading and scaling a high-performing international team.

You will take ownership of engineering strategy, architecture, delivery, quality, and team performance for a globally deployed security product serving highly regulated customers.

Working closely with Product leadership, you'll translate product vision into engineering execution, driving delivery across both SaaS and customer-hosted environments.

What You'll Be Doing

✅ Leading engineering teams across multiple countries

✅ Defining architecture and technical direction for a security-critical platform

✅ Driving AI-native development practices across the full software lifecycle

✅ Building and scaling high-performance engineering teams

✅ Remaining actively involved in technical design and engineering decisions

✅ Improving engineering velocity through modern DevOps, automation, and AI-enabled workflows

✅ Establishing best practices around AI-assisted development, testing, code quality, and governance

✅ Partnering with Product and Executive leadership to deliver ambitious roadmap commitments

✅ Creating an engineering culture focused on accountability, ownership, innovation, and excellence

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Significant experience leading software engineering organisations in B2B SaaS or enterprise software environments
• Experience managing engineering managers and technical leads
• Strong background building and operating cloud-scale distributed systems
• Proven success delivering complex products from concept through release
• Deep understanding of modern software architecture and engineering best practice
• Demonstrable experience using AI throughout the software development lifecycle
• Passion for raising engineering standards, quality, and delivery predictability
• Experience leading globally distributed teams

Particularly Interesting

• Cybersecurity, threat prevention, infrastructure security, or enterprise software backgrounds
• Experience integrating with major collaboration or productivity platforms
• Cloud-native platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of modern C#/.NET ecosystems
• Experience implementing agentic AI development workflows within engineering organisations
