VP, Foundry Operations

For our client, we are seeking a VP, Foundry Operations to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This leader will oversee the industrialization and scaling of advanced battery manufacturing operations from pilot through gigafactory production. The role partners closely with product, R&D, engineering, and executive leadership to turn technical innovation into repeatable, high-volume output. It is a highly visible position responsible for site strategy, facility readiness, equipment deployment, and operational excellence across a complex manufacturing environment.

Location: Alameda, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $234,000 – $308,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the industrialization strategy for battery manufacturing
• Lead site selection and facility design for pilot and gigafactory operations
• Direct equipment specification and process engineering across production blocks
• Recruit and mentor engineering and operations teams
• Collaborate with Product and R&D on manufacturability and production processes
• Align manufacturing capacity with market demands and customer commitments
• Engage with executive leadership on operational strategies and resource allocation
• Implement quality systems and continuous improvement frameworks

Qualifications

• 15+ years in operational or manufacturing leadership roles
• 5+ years in a Director position or higher
• Proven track record in scaling from pilot to multi-GWh production
• Hands-on experience in battery cell manufacturing processes
• Experience managing capital projects with budgets over $100M
• Strong cross-functional and commercial skills
• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or a related field; Ph.D. preferred
