VP of Distribution Operations

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Vice President of Distribution Operations to lead and optimize our distribution network. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of distribution, logistics, and supply chain management to ensure seamless order fulfillment, inventory control, and transportation efficiency. Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive distribution strategies that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across all distribution channels.
• Lead the planning and execution of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to streamline logistics processes.
• Oversee warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping & receiving, and materials management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage supply chain activities such as procurement, demand planning, production planning, and inventory control to meet customer expectations and optimize resource utilization.
• Supervise warehouse supervisors and logistics teams, fostering a high-performance culture through effective team management, managerial communication, and supervision.
• Implement process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), freight carriers, and transportation planning teams to ensure reliable delivery schedules.
• Monitor profit & loss statements related to distribution operations; manage budgeting processes to control expenses while maintaining service quality.
• Utilize supply chain analytics to identify opportunities for optimization, cost savings, and enhanced operational performance.

Experience

• Proven experience in distribution operations management within a fast-paced environment with supervisory responsibilities for warehouse or logistics teams.
• Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles including transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, inventory management, and logistics management.
• Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies or similar continuous improvement frameworks.
• Strong background in transportation planning, freight management, shipping & receiving processes, procurement, demand planning, production planning, and inventory control.
• Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and NVOCC operations is highly desirable.
• Skilled in managing profit & loss statements, budgeting processes, and operational metrics analysis to drive business results.
• Excellent team leadership skills with a focus on supervising staff, fostering collaboration across departments, and communicating effectively at all levels of the organization.

Pay: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
