VP of Engineering

Role & responsibilities

Patra is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead the technology organization behind our software platform and AI products. This executive will own the technical roadmap, build and scale a high-performing engineering team across Patra's global footprint, and drive the company's AI and automation initiatives from early prototypes to production at scale. Seeking a leader who can build solutions for forward deployed squads, building strong relationships with Forward Deployed Squad (FDS), ensuring their code and agents and templates will need to be engineered to be useful and applicable for FDS squad.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for Patra's software platform and AI products
• Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing engineering organization spanning multiple geographies
• Set engineering standards for quality, security, reliability, and delivery speed, backed by clear metrics
• Drive AI and automation initiatives from prototype to production at scale
• Manage engineering budget, vendors, technology investments and relationships

Qualifications & Experience

• 12+ years of progressive engineering experience, including significant time in VP-level or senior engineering leadership roles
• Proven track record building and scaling distributed engineering organizations across multiple geographies (onshore/offshore delivery models a plus)
• Demonstrated success shipping AI or automation-driven products from prototype through production at scale
• Strong technical background in software platform architecture for SaaS or enterprise systems
• Experience owning an engineering budget, vendor relationships, and technology investment decisions
• Insurance, financial services, or BPO industry experience a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree a plus

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience with agentic software development in an AI native environment where agents do the coding, testing, deployment, updates, bug fixing and feature releases.
• Seeking a leader who can build solutions for forward deployed squads so they can hit the ground running, working closely with internal teams
