What they need
Nema is an AI company based in San Francisco. We develop AI agents for managing the engineering lifecycle for complex hardware systems. We're working with defense and robotics companies to ensure American leadership in these critical industries.
What you'll do
- Own the systems engineering domain model - define how Nema Agents represents requirements, hazards, functions, interfaces for autonomous machines and defense systems.
- Lead customer calls - lead technical discovery with VPs of Engineering and Heads of Systems Engineering.
- Be the public face of Nema in the SE community - speak at conferences, write the technical content that shows our customers how we're approaching the problem
- Ship the AI evals - partner with our research team to define what "good" looks like for the Agent
What you've already done
- Have 5+ years experience in systems, safety, V&V, or certification engineering on autonomous or safety-critical platforms
- Background at a defense prime, eVTOL OEM, AV company, space prime, or automotive Tier 1 where you helped build (or break) the SE process.
- Are excited about LLMs / Agents as collaborators, not threatened by them
You'll be a strong fit if you
- Have direct experience with defense (JSSEH, JS-SSA, MIL-STD-882E) aerospace (DO-178C, DO-254), automotive (ISO 26262, ASPICE), robotics (ISO 10218, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288) certification regimes
- Tool administrator or migration lead for DOORS, Jama, Polarion at a previous company
Bonus
- Published work, a conference talk or open source software project
- Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance
- Operated a program under ITAR / EAR
We’re backed by Category Ventures, BoxGroup and industry insiders from Google DeepMind, Waymo, Amazon and Applied Intuition.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. We do not provide visa sponsorship now or in the future.
