About the role

Senza Nome Italian Restaurant is seeking a dedicated Wait Person to join our team on a casual basis. Based at our restaurant in Main Beach, QLD 4217, this role is central to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a Wait Person, you will be the face of our establishment, creating memorable moments through attentive service, product knowledge, and genuine hospitality. This position offers flexibility whilst contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that defines Senza Nome.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting guests warmly and seating them in designated areas
• Taking food and beverage orders accurately and inputting them into the restaurant system
• Delivering orders promptly and ensuring meals are served at the correct temperature
• Providing knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, wines, and specials
• Clearing tables efficiently and maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining areas
• Processing payments and managing transactions with accuracy and professionalism
• Responding promptly to guest requests and addressing concerns with courtesy
• Collaborating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow
• Maintaining awareness of allergens and dietary requirements
• Upholding health and safety standards and restaurant policies

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a hospitality or waiting staff role, ideally within a restaurant environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when taking orders
• The ability to remain calm under pressure whilst maintaining service quality during busy periods
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry items safely
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Flexibility with scheduling, including availability for evening and weekend shifts
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating positive guest experiences
• Basic numeracy skills for handling payments and calculations
• Team-oriented mindset with willingness to support colleagues
