Vudu Cafe & Larder is a well-established Queenstown hospitality business, known for great food, excellent coffee and a vibrant atmosphere. We're preparing to launch dinner service for the first time and are looking for friendly, experienced hospitality professionals to join our new evening front-of-house team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new, work alongside a great team and help create an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

We're looking for people who enjoy hospitality, take pride in their work and can deliver warm, attentive and efficient table service in a busy environment.

About the role

As part of our dinner front-of-house team, you'll help ensure every guest receives excellent service from the moment they arrive until the end of their meal.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming guests and creating a warm, professional first impression.
• Presenting menus, explaining dishes and drinks, and answering questions about menu items.
• Taking food and beverage orders accurately and communicating them clearly to the kitchen and bar team.
• Serving meals and drinks efficiently and professionally.
• Checking in with guests throughout their meal and responding to requests or concerns.
• Handling customer feedback and escalating issues when appropriate.
• Processing payments and operating the point-of-sale system.
• Setting up tables, maintaining the presentation of the dining area and clearing tables between guests.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and workplace health and safety.
• Assisting with opening and closing duties and supporting colleagues to ensure smooth service.

About you

We're looking for reliable, enthusiastic people who enjoy working with customers and being part of a team.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience in hospitality, such as a restaurant, cafe, bar or similar customer-facing environment.
• Experience providing table service, or a strong understanding of restaurant service expectations.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• A friendly, professional manner and confidence interacting with guests.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently during busy services.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
• Reliability, initiative and a strong work ethic.
• Flexibility to work evening shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.
