Overview

Pay: $3.50/hr + tips (servers typically earn $20–$25/hr total)

Duties

• Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of dishes and beverages to enhance their dining experience
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
• Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to maximize sales opportunities
• Process cash and card transactions accurately, including handling tips and processing payments through POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, assist with bussing, and ensure the dining area remains inviting throughout service
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation times and accommodate special dietary requests or allergies

Requirements

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or upscale establishments
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with OpenTable is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining guest satisfaction
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service standards
• Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
• Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
• Food safety certification or knowledge of sanitation standards in the food industry is preferred
