About the Position

Century Lounge Mediterranean Restaurant is looking for professional, energetic and service-driven waiters to join our team.

We require individuals who are confident when engaging with guests, attentive to detail and able to provide warm, efficient service in a busy restaurant environment. The successful candidate must take pride in creating a memorable guest experience while maintaining the professional service and presentation standards of Century Lounge.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and seat guests warmly and professionally
• Present menus and explain dishes, beverages, promotions and specials
• Maintain excellent knowledge of the full food and beverage menu
• Take accurate food and beverage orders
• Capture all orders correctly on the point-of-sale system
• Communicate allergies, dietary requirements and special requests clearly to the kitchen
• Serve food and beverages professionally and within the required service times
• Check on guests after serving and attend promptly to additional requests
• Upsell menu items, desserts, beverages, promotions and restaurant experiences
• Ensure tables are correctly set, clean and presentable before seating guests
• Clear, clean and reset tables efficiently
• Monitor assigned tables throughout each guest’s visit
• Handle guest concerns professionally and immediately report complaints to a supervisor
• Assist with opening, closing and daily cleaning responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness in the restaurant, service stations and guest areas
• Assist with functions, group bookings and special events
• Attend daily briefings and complete all allocated duties
• Work closely with the kitchen, reservations and supervisory teams
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude throughout every shift

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Previous waitering or hospitality experience
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Good knowledge of professional table service
• The ability to learn and confidently explain the menu
• Experience using a restaurant point-of-sale system would be advantageous
• The ability to remain calm, friendly and efficient during busy services
• A neat, well-groomed and professional appearance
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
• The ability to work well within a team
• Applicants must reside within approximately 15km of Century City
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and functions
