CLAY Bali is a new premium restaurant and lounge opening in Ubud. Our concept is inspired by the Silk Road, fire, earth, warm hospitality, tea, and long evenings around the table.

We are looking for friendly, confident, professional, and service-oriented Waiters / Waitresses to join our team and deliver an exceptional dining experience to every guest.

Our ideal candidates are passionate about hospitality, attentive to details, and understand the importance of personalized service in a premium restaurant environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, professional table service.
• Present menus and explain dishes, ingredients, cooking methods, and restaurant specialties.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders.
• Provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the food menu, beverage selection, and restaurant concept.
• Explain signature dishes and unique cooking techniques, including our open-fire kitchen.
• Coordinate orders with the kitchen and bar teams.
• Serve food and beverages according to restaurant service standards.
• Ensure correct timing and sequence of food and beverage service.
• Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs throughout their dining experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper table setup before, during, and after service.
• Prepare tables according to restaurant standards.
• Handle guest requests, dietary restrictions, allergies, and special occasions professionally.
• Communicate guest feedback and concerns to the Restaurant Manager.
• Handle guest complaints politely and assist in resolving service issues.
• Perform upselling and suggest additional dishes, beverages, and desserts naturally.
• Ensure accurate billing and payment procedures.
• Support opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area and service stations.
• Work closely with the Hostess, Kitchen, Bar, and Management teams.
• Follow restaurant hygiene, grooming, and service standards.
• Participate in daily briefings, menu tastings, and service training.
• Help create a memorable dining experience that encourages guests to return.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience as a Waiter / Waitress in a restaurant, hotel, beach club, or hospitality establishment.
• Experience in premium restaurants, fine dining, or upscale hospitality is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of restaurant service standards.
• Friendly, confident, and professional communication skills.
• Well-groomed and presentable appearance.
• Good spoken English.
• Fluent Bahasa Indonesia.
• Additional languages are an advantage.
• Comfortable communicating with international guests.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Understanding of menu presentation, guest recommendations, and upselling techniques.
• Ability to learn detailed information about ingredients, dishes, and preparation methods.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Responsible, punctual, and disciplined.
• Flexible and comfortable working shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Based in Bali or ready to work in Ubud.

Reporting Line

The Waiter / Waitress will report to the Restaurant Manager / General Manager and work closely with:

• Restaurant Manager;
• Floor Supervisor;
• Hostess Team;
• Kitchen Team;
• Bar Team;
• Runner / Service Support Team;
• Operations Team.
