Waiter/Waitress

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Greet and seat guests promptly, presenting menus and explaining daily specials.
• Take accurate orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
• Serve food and beverages to SHOT presentation standards and check back on guest satisfaction.
• Handle guest requests, feedback and complaints courteously, escalating to the supervisor where needed.
• Build rapport with regular guests and encourage repeat visits.

Speciality Coffee & Menu Knowledge

• Maintain sound knowledge of the coffee menu, including origins, roast profiles, brew methods (espresso, V60, AeroPress, cold brew) and milk alternatives.
• Recommend coffee and food pairings and suggest add-ons to increase average spend.
• Advise guests accurately on ingredients and allergens, confirming with the kitchen when unsure.
• Work closely with baristas and kitchen staff to coordinate order timing.

Food Safety & Hygiene

• Clear, clean and reset tables quickly between guests.
• Keep service stations, cutlery, crockery and condiments clean and fully stocked.
• Follow Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) food safety and hygiene requirements and company HACCP procedures.
• Maintain high standards of personal grooming and wear the uniform correctly.

Cash Handling & POS

• Process bills and payments (cash, card, digital) accurately.
• Follow cash-handling procedures and support end-of-shift reconciliation.
• Report any discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.

Teamwork & Operations

• Complete opening and closing duties as per checklists.
• Attend pre-shift briefings and apply updates on menu, promotions and service standards.
• Support colleagues during peak periods, including takeaway and delivery handover.
• Report maintenance issues, breakages and stock shortages promptly.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality certificate is an advantage.
• Minimum 1–2 years' experience as a waiter in a café, speciality coffee shop or casual dining restaurant, preferably in the UAE.
• Working knowledge of speciality coffee, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Experience with POS systems (e.g. Odoo, Micros or similar).
• Valid Basic Food Hygiene certificate, or willingness to obtain one on joining.
• Fluent spoken English; Arabic or additional languages are an advantage.
• Able to stand for long periods, carry trays and work flexible shifts.

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
