Waiting Staff required in Reading

Duties

• Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, ensuring a positive first impression
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems or manual methods
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
• Ensure food safety standards are upheld by following proper handling and hygiene procedures
• Manage multiple tables effectively through excellent time management and organization
• Check in with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly
• Clear tables swiftly, reset for new guests, and handle payments accurately using cash or card transactions
• Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including bar counters, tables, and utensils
• Support the bar staff by preparing basic drinks when needed, adhering to standard recipes
• Qualifications
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts
• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service for at least 3 years; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are key!
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
• Strong serving skills with the ability to engage with diverse customers confidently
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
• Basic math skills for handling bills, payments, and cash transactions accurately
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
