Waitress and Barista

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Waitress and Barista to join our vibrant team. This role involves delivering exceptional guest service, preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a restaurant or café setting is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and take their orders accurately for both food and beverages
• Prepare and serve a variety of drinks, including coffee, tea, and specialised beverages, ensuring quality standards are maintained
• Serve food items promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and hygiene
• Provide attentive guest service by checking on tables regularly and responding promptly to customer needs
• Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including counters, tables, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards
• Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
• Assist in food preparation tasks as required, adhering to food safety regulations
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests

Requirements

• Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or café environment is advantageous but not essential
• Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques
• Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
• Good communication skills with a friendly demeanour towards guests
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
• Basic maths skills for handling payments accurately
• Experience with upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and sales performance
• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and evenings as required; weekend availability is preferred but not mandatory
