Waitress

As a Bar Back, you will be responsible for supporting bartenders and baristas by maintaining the bar area, ensuring it is fully stocked and operational. You will assist with tasks such as cleaning, restocking, and preparing ingredients, ensuring seamless bar operations. You will work closely with the bar team to ensure that guests receive prompt and excellent service, especially during busy periods. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in the café and bar industry while being an integral part of daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stocking & Inventory Management: Ensure the bar is stocked with necessary ingredients (e.g., coffee beans, milk, syrups, garnishes, alcohol), and replenish supplies such as glassware, napkins, and utensils throughout the shift. Monitor stock levels and inform the Bar Manager of shortages.
• Cleaning & Sanitation: Keep the bar area clean and sanitized, including wiping down counters, cleaning equipment, and maintaining glassware. Ensure the bar complies with health and safety regulations.
• Assist Baristas & Bartenders: Support baristas and bartenders by preparing the bar area for service, restocking supplies, and assisting with simple drink preparations (such as brewing coffee or refilling water pitchers).
• Customer Service Support: Engage courteously with guests, providing assistance with minor requests, clearing tables, and ensuring the bar area is always guest-ready.
• Bar Setup & Breakdown: Help set up the bar area before service begins and assist in breaking down and cleaning the bar area after each shift. Ensure the area is ready for the next shift.
• Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of bar equipment, such as espresso machines and grinders, performing routine cleaning and reporting any issues to the Bar Manager.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with bartenders, baristas, and other team members to ensure smooth service flow and operational efficiency.

Job Desk:

• Stocking & Restocking: Ensure the bar has all necessary supplies, including beverages, ingredients, and tools, and replenish as needed.
• Cleaning Duties: Maintain cleanliness throughout the bar, ensuring surfaces, equipment, and glassware are spotless and sanitized.
• Support in Service: Assist bartenders and baristas by fetching supplies, prepping ingredients, and handling minor service tasks.
• Setup & Closing: Assist in preparing the bar for opening and ensure proper cleanup and storage at the end of the shift.
• Monitor Inventory: Track stock levels and communicate with management to reorder when needed, ensuring there is no shortage of essential items.
• Customer Interaction: Provide courteous service to guests by addressing minor requests, ensuring a positive guest experience.
• Equipment Handling: Ensure that bar equipment, such as coffee machines and blenders, is well-maintained, clean, and functioning properly.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience in a café, bar, or restaurant setting is a plus but not required.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to assist team members during busy periods.
• Physical Ability: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to maintaining high service standards.
• Basic Knowledge: Basic understanding of coffee and beverage preparation is a plus but can be learned on the job.
