Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Welcome guests promptly, escort them to tables when appropriate, and create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
• Build relationships with regular customers while making new guests feel appreciated.
• Present menus, explain menu items, describe daily specials, and make recommendations.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, checking that orders meet customer expectations.
• Check on guests throughout their meals, refill beverages, offer desserts, and address concerns promptly.
• Handle customer questions, complaints, and service issues professionally and courteously.
• Provide information and directions to guests when needed.

Food and Beverage Service

• Prepare and serve beverages, including coffee and other menu offerings.
• Assist with preparing and garnishing menu items, including salads, appetizers, soups, cold dishes, and desserts, as needed.
• Follow safe food-handling procedures and applicable beverage service requirements.
• Prepare accurate guest checks, process payments, and make change when necessary.
• Assist with phone calls, reservations, and takeout orders.
• Clear tables, clean dining areas, and reset tables for incoming guests.

Restaurant Operations and Teamwork

• Roll silverware and prepare dining and service stations.
• Stock supplies, beverages, tableware, condiments, and other service items.
• Maintain clean and organized dining areas, service stations, floors, and entryways.
• Report accidents, maintenance concerns, customer incidents, shortages, and policy violations to management promptly.
• Work cooperatively with restaurant management, supervisors, kitchen staff, and other team members.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and established service standards.
• Develop a working knowledge of CnD Specialties, Inc., its businesses, products, and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently attending high school, or a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to operate a cash register, credit card terminal, telephone, and other restaurant equipment.
• Basic math skills for processing payments, calculating change, and preparing guest checks.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures, training materials, and written or verbal instructions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• A dependable, honest, safety-conscious, and flexible approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work nights and weekends, based on business needs.

Previous restaurant or customer service experience is a plus, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to excellent service are essential.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position requires frequent standing and walking, including the ability to stand for extended periods of up to eight hours; reaching, bending, and carrying items; and using hands to operate restaurant equipment and handle food and beverages. Employees must be able to lift and stock beverage and grocery cases weighing up to 40 pounds, with reasonable accommodations provided as required by law.

The work environment typically has a moderate noise level and may involve busy service periods and multiple tasks at once.
