Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
• Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Seat guests promptly, ensuring optimal table utilization and guest flow
• Assist with taking food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of host/hostess stations and dining areas
• Handle phone inquiries professionally, including reservation requests and general questions, adhering to proper phone etiquette
• Support waitstaff by coordinating table turnover and ensuring timely service delivery
• Use POS systems to process orders, payments, and manage guest checks accurately
• Uphold food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
• Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar customer service role within a restaurant setting
• Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on clear phone communication and etiquette
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Solid organizational skills to manage reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow seamlessly
• Basic math skills for handling bills, payments, and cash transactions accurately
• Experience with food service operations, including familiarity with POS systems like POS or Micros POS
• Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards to ensure guest well-being and satisfaction
• Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding guest services that foster positive relations and repeat business
