Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems, and seat guests efficiently to optimize table turnover.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Genisis POS, ensuring special requests are noted and communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
• Provide menu recommendations, including wine pairings and cocktail suggestions, leveraging your spirits and beverage service knowledge to upsell items and enhance guest experience.
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation, food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
• Process sales transactions accurately, handle cash and credit card payments, and give correct change while maintaining a friendly attitude.
• Buss tables efficiently by clearing dishes, resetting tables for new guests, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining area.
• Assist with guest inquiries, resolve concerns promptly, and foster positive guest relations to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant roles such as host/hostess or server is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is essential; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques to upsell effectively.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while demonstrating basic math skills.
• Understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
• Experience in fine dining environments or high-volume restaurants is advantageous.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy hours.
• Hospitality background with knowledge of food industry operations enhances your ability to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
