Job Summary

As a member of our wait staff, you will help create an enjoyable experience for every customer by providing attentive service, taking and delivering orders, answering menu questions, preparing beverages, processing payments, and maintaining clean and organized dining areas.

You will work closely with the owners, managers, supervisors, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations, high customer satisfaction, and quality food and beverage service.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, escorting them to a table when appropriate.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate orders to the kitchen.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and ensure orders are correct.
• Present menus, explain menu items, share daily specials, and make recommendations.
• Prepare and serve beverages according to established procedures.
• Check on guests throughout their meals, refill beverages, offer desserts, and address any concerns.
• Build positive relationships with guests by remembering regular customers and providing personalized service.
• Prepare guest checks, process payments, and make change accurately.
• Answer phones, assist with reservations and takeout orders, and greet and thank customers.
• Respond professionally to customer complaints and resolve service issues promptly, involving management when needed.
• Clear tables, wash or transport dishes as appropriate, clean dining areas, and reset tables for the next guests.
• Roll silverware, stock service stations, replenish condiments, and maintain clean, organized service areas.
• Assist with basic food preparation, including salads, appetizers, soups, desserts, and coffee, as needed.
• Follow all food safety, safe food handling, and applicable beverage service and licensing procedures.
• Report accidents, maintenance concerns, customer incidents, and operational or personnel issues to management promptly.
• Work collaboratively with the restaurant team to promote Eden Cafe's products, services, and overall customer experience.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education: Currently attending high school, or a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Restaurant or customer service experience is helpful, but a willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.

Skills: Basic math, cash handling, computer and point-of-sale (POS) register skills, and effective verbal communication.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to eight hours; reach, bend, stoop, and use hands for food service and payment processing; and lift or stock items weighing up to 40 pounds. Employees must be able to manage multiple tasks and maintain a safe, clean work environment, with reasonable accommodations provided as required.

Work Environment

This position operates in a restaurant setting with a typically moderate noise level. Team members must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining friendly, attentive service.
