Job Summary

Professional, mature servers needed for Juleps New Southern Cuisine. Juleps is a casual fine dining establishment in the heart of Downtown Richmond. A staple of the Richmond food scene, in business for 24 years, we are coming into our busiest time of the year and could use a couple good folks to come aboard and help us continue to give the best service in Virginia.

We are looking for a full and part time person to join our exceptional FOH staff. Someone with knowledge and a passion for the hosptality industry. The type of person that just has that "Restaurant Bug" in them that inspires them to bring people joy and a memorable dining experience to all of their guests.

No "Order Takers" please. We expect servers to Captian their tables. To steward their guests. To make informed suggestions and have the ability to upsell, and be a good, but not overly aggresive salespeople.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using Toast POS.
• Upsell menu items including wines glasses to bottles, rail spirits to topshelf, nightly specials, and "Add-ons" to entrees.
• Serve food and beverages responsibly, adhering to food safety standards and sanitation protocols
• Running sidework. Including, but not limted to polishing glasses and silverware, bussing and resetting tables, restocking waitstations, etc. Our rule is no empty hands going into or leaving the kitchen.
• Execute all aspects of the fine dinig experience from Mise en Place, crumbing between courses, and marking tables correctly, to proper bottled wine service, folding napkins for guest when they leave the table, and doing tables-side Banana Fosters

Skills

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on fine dining.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems. Experience with Toast a positive.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle diverse needs gracefully
• Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques
• Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours without compromising service quality
• Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing tabs efficiently
• Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently to boost sales while ensuring guest satisfaction
• Hospitality background with experience in Fine Dining.

Pay: $2.14 per hour
