Waking Night Care Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in a care home setting. This role involves offering reassurance, assistance, and supervision during the night hours to ensure residents’ safety, comfort, and well-being. Responsibilities

• Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort
• Respond promptly and effectively to any calls or alarms from residents or the care team
• Assist with personal care tasks such as repositioning or attending to basic needs if required
• Follow detailed care plans to deliver consistent and personalized support
• Record all relevant observations, incidents, and actions accurately in logs and reports
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and residents to promote understanding and reassurance

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided
• Good communication skills in English, with the ability to listen attentively and respond empathetically
• Basic IT skills for recording observations and updating care records electronically
• Valid driving license is advantageous for roles involving community or home visits
• Ability to work overnight shifts consistently and reliably
• Understanding of care plans and the importance of following prescribed procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with residents and team members

Pay: £12.71-£12.78 per hour
