Waking Night Support Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to provide essential care and support during overnight hours. In this role, you will ensure the safety, well-being, and comfort of individuals in a care home or home care setting. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help create a calm, secure environment where service users feel valued and cared for throughout the night. Responsibilities

• Monitor service users’ safety and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or concerns
• Conduct regular checks of the environment to ensure safety standards are maintained
• Assist with personal care tasks as needed, respecting residents’ dignity and privacy
• Follow individual care plans meticulously to meet each resident’s specific needs
• Record detailed reports on service users’ conditions, incidents, and any actions taken during your shift
• Communicate effectively with team members, healthcare professionals, and family members when necessary
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment conducive to restful sleep for residents

Skills

• Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with service users, colleagues, and external professionals
• Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately and with compassion
• Good IT skills for recording reports and updating care records efficiently
• Valid driving license is desirable for supporting home care visits or transportation needs
• Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided if needed
• Ability to remain calm, alert, and proactive during night shifts to handle emergencies confidently
