Role & responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities

• Update and maintain average purchase prices using approved purchase and accounting data.
• Prepare product-wise costing and labour-cost calculations, retaining the underlying workings and supporting documents.
• Prepare export product-costing statements required for CEPA/FTA certificates and coordinate internally to ensure the figures agree with approved records.
• Prepare batch-wise and product-wise cost accounting reports and reconcile them with the relevant ERP/accounting records.
• Maintain buying-price data in ACSW and update it only on the basis of authorised information and documented approvals.
• Monitor the relationship between buying prices, cost build-up, current average selling prices and applicable pricing factors; flag exceptions for review.
• Perform batch-closure and labour-cost variance analysis; identify unusual movements and obtain explanations from relevant teams.
• Support cost management initiatives by identifying material usage, labour or overhead trends that may affect product cost.
• Coordinate physical inventory verification, investigate differences, and prepare reconciliation and valuation workings.
• Compile material and labour cost details and prepare overhead-apportionment workings for cost-audit requirements.
• Maintain a clear audit trail for calculations, source data, revisions, approvals and reports.
• Escalate missing data, unusual variances, pricing anomalies, inventory differences and reporting delays to the Coach / accountable role.
