About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for laying ceramic, clay, slate, marble and glass tiles on indoor and outdoor surfaces, delivering high-quality protective and decorative finishes across our commercial building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret architectural plans, tiling layouts and material specifications
• Inspect, clean and level surfaces prior to installation, including applying waterproofing membranes where required
• Accurately measure, mark and cut tiles to specific dimensions using appropriate hand and power tools
• Order and manage delivery of materials to job sites
• Lay tiles in horizontal, vertical and diagonal patterns using adhesives or mortar
• Apply grout, sealants and finishes as required
• Undertake cleaning, polishing and finishing of tiled surfaces
• Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and other trades to coordinate works and meet project deadlines
• Supervise and guide labourers where required
• Support the training and development of apprentices
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
• Comply with all Workplace Health and Safety requirements and company procedures

To Be Considered

You must have:

• Minimum of 1 year experience
• Experience working on commercial construction projects
• AQF Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, or equivalent relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of tiling materials, adhesives, tools and installation methods
• Ability to read plans and work independently or as part of a team
• Strong commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Current White Card
• Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
• Own tools preferred
• Sound understanding of WHS requirements and PPE usage
• A proactive, reliable and positive attitude
• Strong references

Experience in natural stone restoration, including cleaning, polishing, honing, sealing and repairs, will be highly favourable.
