What they need
Bon Bloemen is a successful, family-run flower wholesaler supplying fresh flowers, plants and sundries to florists across the North East and beyond.
We are looking for a confident, organised and hands-on Warehouse & Logistics Manager to take responsibility for our busy early-morning warehouse operation.
This is a varied role combining day-to-day management with practical involvement on the warehouse floor. You will lead the team, organise incoming deliveries, oversee stock scanning and put-away, and ensure orders and delivery routes leave accurately and on time.
Key responsibilities
● Lead and organise the warehouse team during each shift
● Allocate daily tasks and set clear, achievable completion targets
● Oversee the scanning, checking and accurate location of incoming stock
● Ensure deliveries are processed and put away efficiently
● Monitor productivity, stock accuracy and completion times
● Coordinate drivers, delivery routes and vehicle departures
● Prepare staff rotas and manage shift coverage
● Address attendance, conduct and performance issues appropriately
● Reduce avoidable overtime by ensuring work is completed efficiently
● Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and health and safety
● Identify operational problems and introduce practical improvements
● Work alongside the team when required, particularly during busy periods
About you
You will be a visible and approachable manager who is comfortable giving clear instructions, maintaining standards and dealing promptly with problems. You should be able to motivate people while creating a fair, productive and positive working environment.
You will ideally have:
● Previous experience leading a warehouse or operational team
● Experience using stock-control, scanning or warehouse-management systems
● Experience coordinating drivers and delivery routes
● Strong organisational and time-management skills
● Confidence managing productivity and holding people accountable
● Good communication and problem-solving skills
● A practical, hands-on approach
● The ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-moving environment
Experience working with flowers, fresh produce or other perishable goods would be useful but is not essential.
What we offer
● A permanent, full-time position with daytime finishes
● Monday-to-Friday working
● A competitive salary, negotiable according to experience
● The opportunity to make a real impact within a successful and growing family business
● A friendly working environment where good ideas and initiative are valued
● Workplace pension
● On-site parking
To apply, please send your CV together with a short note explaining your relevant experience and why you would be a good fit for Bon Bloemen.
