Warehouse & Operations Assistant

About the role

A well-established and growing New Zealand-owned industrial manufacturing company is seeking a reliable, hands-on Warehouse & Site Operations Assistant. This role is centred on running an organised, efficient warehouse, with general workshop and site operations duties as required. You will handle stock, dispatch and receiving, and help keep our site organised, safe and well maintained.

This is a long-term role for someone who wants to grow with the business. As we expand there are genuine opportunities to develop into other roles, including leadership and management, for the right person.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, check and put away incoming goods
• Load and unload containers and trucks safely and efficiently
• Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch
• Check stock against packing lists and carry out regular stock counts
• Label parts, racking and inventory accurately
• Keep the warehouse organised, with stock stored correctly and easy to locate
• Prepare parts and equipment for storage and dispatch
• Assist with local pickups and deliveries
• Carry out general workshop and yard work as required
• Clean and maintain the warehouse, workshop and yard areas

About you

• Reliable, punctual and keen to learn
• Mechanically minded with a good understanding of how machines work
• Good attention to detail with stock and paperwork
• Organised and takes pride in a clean, tidy work area
• Comfortable using common hand and power tools
• Physically fit and happy working outdoors as required
• Full NZ driver licence
• Forklift licence (F endorsement) an advantage, or willingness to obtain one
• A team player with a whatever-needs-doing attitude
• Interested in a long-term role and developing your career
